Hello Stéphanie, thank you for accepting this interview! Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Stéphanie Marques-Graca, I am 23 years old and I am in Ms1 Human Resources at Ascencia Business School, on the Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines campus. I joined the Banque Populaire Val de France as a work-study student. I am a dynamic person and I invest a lot in what I do. It is for this reason that I joined the school’s BDE a few months ago.
How is your apprenticeship going and what exactly do you do?
Great! I am in the HR Development and Social Relations department. I am fortunate to have joined a great team that gives me the opportunity to develop my skills through various missions. I work mainly on the recruitment process for different types of positions. At the moment, I’m in the middle of a recruitment campaign for apprentices through jobdating, the publication of contracts and I also organize their integration day.
Can you tell us about your background?
After obtaining my Baccalaureate in Economics and Social Administration at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin, I decided to pursue a degree in Economic and Social Administration. At the end of this degree, I did an internship in a small company where I discovered different aspects of the management of a small business. It was this experience that led me to Human Resources. I opted for the alternation with the Ms of Ascencia Business School, to allow me to combine theory and practice.
How is your career at Ascencia ?
The health context did not simplify the situation. I came to a new school without knowing anyone. Despite this situation, the Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines teams have done their best to facilitate access to courses via Teams. The speakers tried to create a bond between the students through various group assignments. So far, I only remember the positive.
What attracted you to join Ascencia Business School ?
I have several friends who have graduated from this school and have spoken highly of it. The small size of the school makes it possible to create a real proximity between the speakers, the management and the students. Ascencia’s Ms RH is well ranked by Eduniversal ! But to be honest, what was decisive was above all the proximity. Banque Populaire Val de France is located on the same street as Ascencia, which allowed me to move within a 15-minute walk of both sites.
Once admitted, what did you like best about Ascencia?
This was a special year where we were 100% remote. I particularly liked the fact that the school organizes days of meetings between students, like the integration day at Parc Astérix or the creation of a website. I also really appreciated the friendliness between the students who support each other and this is due to the reasonable class size.
What would be your dream job after your studies?
After my studies, I would like to be an HR project manager. But it’s true that the job of social management controller also attracts me a lot! So I’ll keep an eye out for any opportunities that come my way.
We know it’s a complicated situation right now with COVID, but if you had to name one positive thing you would take away from this event, what would it be?
Even though the distance learning was quite difficult at first, it developed our ability to adapt. Finally, we learned how to create links in this way. In addition, the travel time saved allowed me to invest in projects for the school. I am referring in particular to the project to create a recording room thanks to financing from Crédit Agricole.
Can you tell me the first thing you will do when you meet your class in person on the Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines campus?
The first thing will be to go for a drink after class. I would also like to organize an integration weekend so that we can get to know each other better.
More globally, what do you like to do in life? Do you have any passions?
Above all, enjoy life! Not to mention the Asian restaurants and shopping. When I was younger, I had a real passion for drawing but with time it gets lost. When you become independent, you have less time for yourself, especially between classes and work. So today, I focus more on going out with friends and family.
We end this interview with a small free part: Do you have a last word to say? Anything else you’d like to express?
Yes, that’s right! With one of my classmates, Maxime, we would really like to relaunch the school’s BDE in September. By this I mean parties and other events. But for that, we could use a little help! So if any students from the SQY campus are passing by, don’t hesitate to join us!
